The following are the main steps in career planning and development-
  1. The Analysis of indiviual-Here his skill, knowledge, aptitude and desire to go up are analysed.
  2. Analyse indiviual's career opportunities- One should see career development within the organization and outside the organisation.
  3. Analyse indiviual's needs- Specially in the areas of skills, knowledge, qualification, experience and training he has obtained so far.
  4. Goal formation- Every indiviual have long-term and short-term goals to achieve.
  5. Career Strategy- Indiviual should care for developing his abilities so that one can face new changes and challenge's.
  6. Action Plan- Indiviual should be made careful about plan preparation and execution keeping a meaningful balance between resources and goals.
